Mobile Learning
Also known as التعلم عبر الجوال
Definition
Mobile learning delivers training on phones and tablets, designed for the conditions those devices are used in: small screens, touch input, short and interrupted sessions, variable connectivity and no keyboard. It is the primary access route for frontline, field and distributed workforces who do not sit at a desk.
A desktop course that technically renders on a phone is not mobile learning. The practical requirements are specific — legible type without zooming, touch targets large enough for a thumb, no dependence on hover, content that survives a session ending mid-module, and offline access where connectivity is unreliable.
In much of the Middle East mobile is not a secondary channel but the main one, and Arabic adds a further requirement: full right-to-left layout on small screens, where cramped interfaces are where mirroring most often breaks.
