Employee Engagement
Also known as اندماج الموظفين
Definition
Employee engagement is the degree of commitment, discretionary effort and psychological investment employees bring to their work and organization. It is distinct from satisfaction: a comfortable employee may be satisfied and disengaged, while an engaged one expends effort beyond what the role formally requires.
Development opportunity is consistently among the strongest drivers in engagement research, which is why L&D has a direct stake in the measure. The reverse also holds: mandatory training experienced as pointless is a visible signal about how the organization values people's time.
Engagement surveys measure perception at a moment and are only useful when something follows. Repeated surveying without visible action reliably depresses both scores and response rates, because employees correctly infer that reporting a problem changes nothing.
