Learning Delivery & Modalities

Also known as التعلم المصغر

Definition

Microlearning delivers training in short, focused units — typically two to seven minutes — each addressing a single objective and consumable independently. It suits reinforcement, procedural reminders and just-in-time support, and it is the natural format for mobile and frontline audiences with no protected study time.

Microlearning is a design discipline, not a duration rule. Splitting a sixty-minute course into fifteen four-minute segments produces fifteen fragments of a course, not microlearning. Each unit has to make sense on its own and be findable when the need arises, which changes how content is structured and tagged.

It also has clear limits. Complex skills that require sustained practice, integration of several concepts, or extended feedback cycles cannot be assembled from short independent units alone. Used well, microlearning reinforces and supports capability that was built somewhere else.
