Employee Onboarding
Also known as التأهيل التمهيدي للموظفين
Definition
Employee onboarding is the structured process of integrating a new hire into their role, team and organization, covering administrative setup, mandatory compliance training, role-specific capability, cultural context and the relationships needed to work effectively. It typically runs from acceptance of the offer through the first three to twelve months.
Time to full productivity is an outcome L&D can measure, and onboarding is a common place to see it. Shortening ramp-up across a large intake has a business effect that finance can usually put a number on, which helps justify the program.
Many programs try to fit everything into week one. A new hire cannot absorb systems training, policy, product knowledge and culture simultaneously, and most of it arrives before they have the context to make sense of it. Sequencing across the first months, with content available for reference later, works considerably better.
